Suan Buak Haad, Chiang Mai

The city park Suan Buak Haad in Chiang Mai is next to the Wat Puak Hom on the Bam Rung Buri Rd. This is the onliest possibility in old CM to relax a bit from the busy town. On the entry to this nice park in north Thailand you can buy some local food, drinks and rent a matte to sit on the grass between the birds and the small lakes here. Many people come for jogging, walking or to relax. The Suan Buak Haad Park let you forget the traffic of Chiang Mai for a while and is a good option to hang around surrounded by big trees. This is a great possibility for all travelers and tourists who searching for a bit nature in central Chiang Mai. Another reason to come to this city park are the fishes in the lakes of this park which you can feed. The park is one of central CM’s highlights and is a nice destination if you are looking for a place to hang around in this Asian town in Thailand.

The Terrace of 32 Coffee Hill

The Terrace of 32 Coffee Hill

The small Café “32 Coffee Hill” is on the half way from Chiang Mai to Pai direct in the beautiful Mountain of north Thailand. We stopped here for a delicious Ice Coffee when we traveled to Pai by Motorbike. But Coffee Hill in Pa pae meatang  offer much more than just coffe: cool water, fruit shakes, many coffee specialties like mocha, cappuccino and of course yummy black americano from selected beans. The friendly service and the nice view from the terrace make a stop here to a highlight of the trip through Thailands Chiang Mai province. We enjoyed our rest here and will stop again on our next motorbike travel trip to Pai in north Thailand’s mountains.

Baan Pai Village Guest House, Pai – North Thailand

The Restaurant of Pai Village

The Restaurant of Pai Village

The nice hostel accommodation Baan Thai Village is just a few minutes’ walk from the bus station in the center of Pai in north Thailand. Here at this guest house in the Mae Hong Son province you have the option for bungalows from 350 to 850 Thai Baht. We had a small bungalow in July 2009 with an own bathroom for 350. The rooms for 850 Baht are a bit bigger. All bungalows here at Baan Pai village are made of bamboo wood and have a leaf roof. The way to the cozy hut goes through a beautiful garden with a small water stream and bamboo bridges. In the restaurant of Baan Pai Village they serve good food and cool beverages to cool down of the hot temperatures from the Asian sun. This guest house is a nice option for all travelers in north Thailand who want to stay direct at town of Pai. We enjoyed our stay here at this accommodation not at least of the friendly service at the reception.

Night Bazaar and Walking Street in Chiang Mai

Night Bazaar

The Night Bazaar in Chiang Mai

The Night Bazaar in Chiang Mai

The Night Bazaar in Chiang Mai offers many handicraft products, t-shirts, and other souvenirs. This market near the Loi Khro road should be the main attraction of Chiang Mai in north Thailand. Every evening from about six o’clock there are hundreds of booths who offer beautiful and handmade souvenirs of the hill tribes from this part of Thailand. Another reason to come here is the food. Many booth offer delicious Thai, Isaan, Indian… food for a good price. As well the cheap fruit shakes are cheap and very healthy. If you like western food than should be O’Malley’s Irish Pub or Daddys Restaurant the right choice for you. Take the bait of the exhalation around the food area of this historical market. On the Night Bazaar you will find for sure the right souvenirs of your trip to north Thailand.

Walking Street Market

Walking Street in Chiang Mai

Walking Street in Chiang Mai

Every Sunday afternoon till late is in central Chiang Mai a big market direct in the center of this great city in Thailand. The whole Ratchadamnoen road from Tha Phae to Wat Phrasingh is close for cars, bikes and scooters. This is a perfect bargain for tourists who like to buy some handicrafts of the hill tribes, handmade adornments and many other souvenirs. The temple markets around the market offer nice and cheap local food. If you like to rest by a fresh coffee than you are right at Black Canyon, Doi Chaang or the Ratchadamnoen Cafe in the middle of the market. For fresh juices and healthy drinks i can recommend the Juice Box on the Ratchadumnern street. This market is a nice option to walk a bit on every Sunday in Chiang Mai as well when you don’t want to buy something. If you stay at Chiang Mai in Thailand on a weekend it’s a “must see” sight for all backpackers and tourist who stay here for traveling or on  holidays. The Walking Street in CM is my favorite market here in Chiang Mai and in whole Thailand.

Winner Inn, Chiang Mai

The Winner Inn Hotel in Chiang Mai is located next to the city wall and not far from the night market of this historical town in north Thailand. We checked in to this accommodation two times, our first time on our Pai – Chiang Mai Travel Trip and the first two nights when we came here for study. The low budget offer clean rooms with Air-Condition, Telephone, TV, fridge, hot water shower and a bath tub for a cheap backpacker price. We paid in the middle of 2009 600 Thai Baht. Next to the reception of this travel accommodation in Chiang Mai is a small restaurant which offers drinks snacks and Breakfast in the morning. To the night bazaar it’s a walk of round about 20 minutes or 5 minutes with the motorbike. Winner Inn in Chiang Mai is the right option for all who don’t want to spend so much money but don’t want to miss a good hotel service. On the reception you can book as well tours and transport too many destinations in Thailand and around the Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son Province.

Bangkok Airways

Lounge on the International Airport in BKK

Lounge on the International Airport in BKK

The Airline Bangkok Airways is famous for many domestic connections in Thailand. The hub of Asia’s boutique airline is Thailand’s Capital Bangkok. From here you get nearly everywhere in Thailand: Phuket, Koh Samui, Sukhothai and much more destinations. Bangkok Airways flight as well to some international destinations like Phnom Penh in Cambodia. I was flying from Bangkok to Trat to travel to Koh Chang with this Airline. Is a nice option to the bus if you come from Europe or elsewhere in world. For the brake on the international Airport in Bangkok there is a lounge as well for economy passengers with some food, hot and cold drinks and good service. A nice place to relax from your intercontinental flight before. The service on board of this airline is friendly like everywhere if you fly with an Asian Airline. I can recommend to travel with Bangkok Airways for domestic flights in Thailand and international flights in South East Asia.

The Island Lanzarote in Spain is dominated of volcano landscapes.  On the Island which belongs to the Canaries archipelago are more than 300 crater, 1824 was the last eruption and bring three new volcanos, the Tao, Tinguaton and the Chinero. The highest Mountain on this Island of Spain in Europe is the Penas del Chache with about 680 meter. I was here 3 times on holidays on this beautiful spot in the Atlantic Ocean. The highlights for tourists are the Timanfaya national park, the green lagoon (called as well the green lake) of El Golfo, Uga where you can ride camels, Arrieta where you can see rare crabs at Los Jameos del Aqua, Costa Teguise where you can play Golf in your holidays, La Geria which is famous for great wine, in Haria you will recognize 1000 Palms and many more destinations make Lanzarote to my favorite on the Canaries Islands. The Capital of Lanzarote is Arrecife, on the Playa del Reducto beach you are nearly the onliest tourist. If you like it more touristic: Playa del Carmen and Playa Blanca will be the right destination for your travel tour or for your holidays here on Lanzarote.

Stetten Klettergarten – Germany

Climbing Wall

Climbing Wall

In Mai 09 I was at South Germany to visit a good friend who I meet on Koh Chang in Thailand and go to a AC/DC concert on the Hockenheimring in Baden Wurttemberg. On Monday after the concert we go to a climbing park called Stetten. It was my first experience in this direction. The best way to come here is by car. If you don’t know the way from the park ground to the wall is hard to find. When you come here for climbing the best way is to get some information before you arrive. It is not possible to rent equipments over there so bring everything what you need as well food and drinks.  Here at the climbing park in Stetten you will find 8-9 meter high sandstone walls with different demand. I had a lot of fun and it was a good experience especially with my fear to the high.

Egypt Air Airline

International Airport in Cairo

International Airport in Cairo

In Mai 2009 I traveled by Egypt Air from Bangkok in Thailand to Cairo and from Cairo in Egypt to Dusseldorf in Germany. The national airline is a member of the Star Alliance. The hub of the international Airways is at the capital of the African country. The service is good but the best is the space in front of your seat. Compared to many other international airlines the space between the seats are amply. I enjoyed this two flights with this north African Airline and as well the abidance on the airport on my stop in Cairo. Air Egypt fly rightly in the aggregation of the best airlines and airways in world and the price is on many connections cheaper than the competition. Fly Egypt Air and enjoy good service with many space as well in the economy class for a good travel  price.
