Green Lagoon at El Golfo
The Island Lanzarote in Spain is dominated of volcano landscapes. On the Island which belongs to the Canaries archipelago are more than 300 crater, 1824 was the last eruption and bring three new volcanos, the Tao, Tinguaton and the Chinero. The highest Mountain on this Island of Spain in Europe is the Penas del Chache with about 680 meter. I was here 3 times on holidays on this beautiful spot in the Atlantic Ocean. The highlights for tourists are the Timanfaya national park, the green lagoon (called as well the green lake) of El Golfo, Uga where you can ride camels, Arrieta where you can see rare crabs at Los Jameos del Aqua, Costa Teguise where you can play Golf in your holidays, La Geria which is famous for great wine, in Haria you will recognize 1000 Palms and many more destinations make Lanzarote to my favorite on the Canaries Islands. The Capital of Lanzarote is Arrecife, on the Playa del Reducto beach you are nearly the onliest tourist. If you like it more touristic: Playa del Carmen and Playa Blanca will be the right destination for your travel tour or for your holidays here on Lanzarote.
Camel at Uga
If you want to go scuba diving, than you need for sure a minimum 5mm wetsuit. The water temperature of the Atlantic is about 18 degree in January and 23 in August. The best way to travel here on this island of Spain is by car, you will see many possibilities to rent a cheap one to explore the beautiful island of Cesar Manrrique who made a lot of arts and sculptures here.
Climbing Wall
In Mai 09 I was at South Germany to visit a good friend who I meet on Koh Chang in Thailand and go to a AC/DC concert on the Hockenheimring in Baden Wurttemberg. On Monday after the concert we go to a climbing park called Stetten. It was my first experience in this direction. The best way to come here is by car. If you don’t know the way from the park ground to the wall is hard to find. When you come here for climbing the best way is to get some information before you arrive. It is not possible to rent equipments over there so bring everything what you need as well food and drinks. Here at the climbing park in Stetten you will find 8-9 meter high sandstone walls with different demand. I had a lot of fun and it was a good experience especially with my fear to the high.
International Airport in Cairo
In Mai 2009 I traveled by Egypt Air from Bangkok in Thailand to Cairo and from Cairo in Egypt to Dusseldorf in Germany. The national airline is a member of the Star Alliance. The hub of the international Airways is at the capital of the African country. The service is good but the best is the space in front of your seat. Compared to many other international airlines the space between the seats are amply. I enjoyed this two flights with this north African Airline and as well the abidance on the airport on my stop in Cairo. Air Egypt fly rightly in the aggregation of the best airlines and airways in world and the price is on many connections cheaper than the competition. Fly Egypt Air and enjoy good service with many space as well in the economy class for a good travel price.
Landscape of South Africa
In 2000 I traveled with my family to South Africa to visit my grand uncle who lives in Johannesburg. It was my first long distance flight ever. We were flying with South African Airlines from Germany to Johannesburg. We visit many Casinos, Shopping Centers and Restaurants, but my highlight on this holiday was a Safari Park tour by car near the capital Pretoria. A nice Casino is the round Circus Casino where we lost some money but had a lot of fun. We saw a lot of African wild animals, lions, hippos, ostriches, rhinos, leopards and many more…

But I got as well a bad touch of this part of the black continent; the common crime is a big problem especially in the big cities. Our house was surrounded by a high wall topped by a high voltage electric wire. In many district of Johannesburg it was not possible to stop on a red traffic light. But the holiday areas should be save, please inform yourself before you book your flight . The endless landscapes are beautiful; all in all it was a nice trip around the world. South Africa is one of the beautifulest countries I ever saw in life. The red earth shines in the sun and the rare vegetation insertion in the rest of the landscapes.
Hippos on a Safari
The Racing Car of Michael Schumacher @ Hockenheim
The Speedway at Hockenheim in Germany is the most famous racing circuit at Germany. The Hockenheim Ring is located at Baden Wuemberg in Southwest Germany. I have bin here four times till right now, two times (2002, 2003) I watched the formula 1 here on this historical place. In 1999 and 2009 I went here for a concert. In Mai 2009 the Rock’ n Roll band ACDC gave a absolute briliant concert. On formula one races the most visitors stay at the camping ground next to the speedway circuit. The organization was brilliant for the race and the camping. The atmosphere on the camping ground is nice! All people make party, party and again party the whole week till the Sunday of the race. The atmosphere on the tribunes are amazing and the sound of the cars are noisy, yust loud enough for a right racing felling on the ranks! The best way to travel here is by car over the A5 highway or by train to the train station in Hockenheim. My highlights on the speed way was for sure the victory of the German formula 1 pilot Michael Schumacher and the ACDC concert of the Black Ice Tour in 09.
Live Music Stone Free
The Stone Free Bar at Lonely Beach is my favorite location for handmade live music on the tropical Island Koh Chang. Every week the Sticky Rice Blues Band and friends give a world class concert for Tourists and Backpackers. For many travelers is the evening here at Stone Free the highlight of their Thailand Travel Tour. The cheap prices for drinks like beer and longdrink buckets invite as well people who travel on a low budget. The small bar at the center of Lonely Beach offers every afternoon jam session for hobby musicians and Backpacker on the beautiful Island Ko Chang in Thailand. The Sticky Rice Blues Band play the best of Reggae, Rock n’ Roll, Classics and of course good Blues. The songs of Hendrix and Perkins are like made for Mark the guitar player and singer of the band. The staff of the Stone Free Bar on Chang Island in Thailand is very friendly and helpful. At the bar is a familiar atmosphere and the most customers come every evening back to listen to the live music at Lonely Beach in this great location. The hang mocks at the bar invite to hang around and chill to the good live music. The Stone Free Bar is the right destination for traveler, backpacker and all people who want to listen to handmade music. This Bar in Thailand is perfect to meet open minded people from around the world. Try it out and step into a world of blues, reggae and many many fun.
Rocks at Chai Chat Cape
If you are looking for a beautiful place to watch the tropical sunset on Koh Chang you will feel fine at the rock cape in the middle of Ko Changs west coast. The best way to come here is by Motorbike or Taxi. You can drive to the Chai Chet Resort and then follow the way to the rocks in the Gulf of Thailand. There are some steps to climb up the rocks. If you reach the top you will be surprised of the amazing view over the sea. The best time to go here is between 6 and 7 pm when the tropical sun of Thailand leaves on the horizontal of the Gulf. If you look down to the rocks you will recognize the beauty waves who smash against the natural monument of Thailand in Southeast Asia. This is one of my favorite places here on Koh Chang to watch the colorful sunset. Other nice places to watch this spectacle of the nature here on the island are the Scenic Area at Kai Bae Beach or the place where Thale Bungalow was before at Klong Prow Beach. On the way back to your Hotel or Resort you can take a stop at Coconut Restaurant on the beach of Chai Chet to drink a delicious Fruit Shake and listen to the sound of the ocean. If you are visit the Chai Chet Cape don’t forget you camera to shot some nice pictures of your holidays.
Air Berlin / LTU Airways
The german Air Berlin Airline (before LTU) is my favourite on many conections because of the cheap price. I fly with LTU to Mexico, Dominican Republic in America and many times to Thailand in Asia. The homebase of Air Berlin is Duesseldorf in Germany, from here the International Airways fly to many destinations around the world. The seats are not that big and the service not that good than with some other Airlines but the price is mostly the cheapest. On the long distance flights the board service of Air Berlin serve two meals and one snack. From while to while the service personal come and bring hot and cold beverages. The Airline charge just for alcoholic drinks extra. Softdrings, Coffee, Tea and all other non alcohol beverages are included. The entertaiment system show two movies and some short films on all long distance flights. The german airline is mostly my favourite because they dont charge extra for my diving gear! Check the homepage of AirBerlin, many kind of sport gear you can take for free till 30 kg. It’s perfect for me as a divemaster and as well for many other tourists who don’t want to rent some old sport gear. The planes are always in a good condition, I feel always save on board of the German Airline. One more reason to flight with Air Berlin are the good conections and the widespread net in Europe and world wide.
Sunset at the Rama bridge
The small Thai Restaurant “Khao-Tha” is on the Thewes pier of the Chao Praya River Express. From here are a exelent view to the Rama 8 bridge over Bangkok’s big river. On the menue are many delicious traditional Thai dishes and beverages like softdrinks, beer and whiskey. The Khao Tha Restaurant in Thailand’s Capital open the doors in the late afternoon for dinner. From the wooden floor you can feed the fishes here at Thewes Pier. Many times here playing Thai Solo artists live music in the evening, they play pop and love songs from Thailand and some slow international songs. The atmosphare is the right for a romantic dinner for couples or people who like to drink a beer in a quiet and relaxed atmosphare here In Bangkok. The good and friendly service will make your dinner here at Khao Tha to a highlight of your Thailand holiday or your Southeast Asia Travel Tour. If you need Accomendation at Thewet the Sri Ayuttaya Guest House is just a five minutes walk away. The right choice for all who don’t like the busy and loud Restaurants and Bars on the Khoa Sarn Road a bit south from here.
Gecko Guest House
On the Southeast Asia Travel Tour 2007 I have bin some days on the Island Pulau Langkawi in Malaysia. I get a recommendation for the Gecko Guest House accommodation on Cenang Beach from an other Backpacker on Penang. The hostel have small but nice rooms with a King size Bed, Fan and a mosquito net. The cheap price make this establishment to a good choice for individual tourists on travel tour. At the Restaurant is a public TV where you can watch movies and sports. The slow Reggae music is perfect for chill out at Gecko accommodation. To the beach of cenang on Langkawi Island in malaysia it`s just a short walk over the street. On the menue of the Gecko Restaurant you will find good breakfast, lunch and dinner. It offer a good mix of western and local food. The dishes are cheap and very delicious. Just next to the Guest House is a booking office where you can book travel conections, diving and other activities around Malaysia and speciality on Pulau Langkawi in Peninsular. The warm water of the Andaman Sea here at Cenang will make your stay to a highlight of your vacations in Asia.
